Have you ever come to SGIM's Hill Day? Don't you think it's time you joined us?

 

Each March, SGIM members travel to Capitol Hill to advocate on issues important to primary care.Everyone from medical students to experienced politicos meet with their representatives and participant in the democratic process--educating the legislature on issues that affect our daily practice.

 

"Being able to sit down in one of my senator's offices for a 30 minute exchange of ideas was very exciting. I have attended local events with that senator, but to be in her office on the Hill advocating for issues that affect my career was so exciting."

Congratulations to JGIM!

 

The Alliance for Clinical Education publishes a Journal Watch of selected Medical Education articles from the past year by specialty.

 

The Medical Education Internal Medicine listing of papers just came out.

The Purpose is: "to highlight the most interesting, relevant and high quality internal mediciine educational research published inthepast year ..."

 

Of the 10 papers they reviewed, 5 were from JGIM!Read the entire paper available here.

A new resource has been uploaded in GIM Connect's Open Forum Community.QNOTE is a validated instrument that measures the quality of the outpatient clinical note. It assesses whether the note is complete, clear, concise, etc. It does not evaluate the quality of the medical care documented in the note. QNOTE can assess the quality of your notes and the notes of your colleagues, and it can assess the quality of medical student and resident notes. It can also be used for peer review and to evaluate the adequacy of documentation for ICD-10 coding and billing. It is open source and freely available.For more information, click here.
