SGIM Names Interim Executive Director

SGIM and ACLGIM are pleased to announce the appointment of Kay Ovington as Interim Executive Director of SGIM/ACLGIM, effective June 5, 2015. Ms. Ovington has been with the Society since February 1998, coming on board as the 4th full time staff person. She has served in various roles during her tenure, first at SGIM and then with both groups. For the last 10 years, Ms. Ovington has overseen the general operations of the organization as the Chief Operating Officer. Her many accomplishments include the purchase, build out and move-in of the new SGIM office, the expansion and direction of staff to support the increasing breadth of SGIM's strategic priorities and the tactical management of the Society.

In her new role as Interim Executive Director, Ms. Ovington will continue to manage the operations of SGIM and ACLGIM while serving as a valued member of the Councils and Executive Committees of both organizations. She will also serve as a liaison with many of our outside collaborations and partnerships.

SGIM and ALCGIM are thrilled to have such a knowledgeable non-profit administrator at the helm. Her history with and dedication to both organizations makes her uniquely qualified to continue to lead us during this time of transition.

In her free time, Kay is passionate about dog rescue, training and rehabilitation, enjoys live music of all kinds, and bikes the DC metro trails. She can be reached at ovingtonk@sgim.org.
