Bio

I am a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Internal Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine and an Ambulatory Care Staff Physician at the Malcolm Randall VAMC in Gainesville, FL. In addition to my role as an Residency Associate Program Director at UF, I currently serve as its Primary Care track director and Program Co-Director for the VA Chief Resident of Quality Safety.

As a GIM faculty and educator at UF, I have championed for innovation in residency ambulatory education and residents’ interest in general internal medicine. My career has been focused on optimizing the quality of ambulatory residency education through curricular innovations on team-based ambulatory learning and chronic care models.

My clinical niche is in quality improvement and team-based chronic disease management, particularly in diabetes and obesity. Non-clinical interests include humanism and resiliency in medicine, residency curricular development, ambulatory faculty career development and cultivation of leadership skills. My leisure time is spent playing volleyball and racquetball, going hiking with my kid, and singing in my husband’s rock band.
