Andrew Bindman, M.D., a primary care physician with federal and state health policy experience who has practiced, taught,and conducted health services research at San Francisco General Hospital, has been named AHRQ's new director. Andy is a long-time SGIM member and we wish him success in his new position.

Redonda Miller, MD, MBA, has been
namedpresident of Johns Hopkins Hospital, making history as the first female to hold the position since the hospital's founding in 1889. Miller succeeds Ronald R. Peterson, who announced his retirement in January and has held the position for 19 years. Miller, a long-time SGIM'er and past Council member, will assume the role on July 1.

Call for New JGIM Editors
The Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) is pleased to request letters of interest regarding the position of Editor(s)-in-Chief for the Journal of General Internal Medicine (JGIM).
This Call For Letters of Intent solicits initial letters of interest in the position of JGIM Editor(s)-in-Chief, for a five- year term commencing July 1, 2017.
The requirements for the initial letter of interest are as follows:
- Two-page letter outlining the candidate's general vision for the Journal, both JGIM online and in print, briefly summarizing his/her editorial and/or other relevant experience, and providing a partial listing of the individuals who would be expected to be key personnel for the editorial team and their institution(s) (e.g., potential associate/deputy editors).
- Candidate's Curriculum Vitae, including prior SGIM involvement.Candidates MUST be SGIM members in good standing at the time of their application.

New Pediatric-to-Adult Transition Tools Released by American College of Physicians
The American College of Physicians has announced the release of specialized toolkits to facilitate more effective transition and transfer of young adults into health care settings. According to Dr. Patience White, co-director of Got Transition, "This is exciting because this is the first time a groundbreaking initiative like this has been undertaken by an adult provider organization in the U.S."
Thenew transition toolkitscontain several condition-specific tools modeled after Got Transition's Six Core Elements of Health Care Transition.
Led by Dr. Carol Greenlee, the Chair of theACP's Council of Subspecialty Societies (CSS), this project was a collaborative effort with Got Transition, the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) to address gaps that often occur in the transition process from pediatric to adult health care. As a young adult consumer with achronic condition, Nichole Goble noted at the ACP annual meeting, "These transition tools will be incredibly helpful to youth and young adults to better prepare them for adult health care."
