Bio

I attended the University of Utah for all three of my degrees. Earning a Bachelor's in Science in Health Promotion and Education in 2004, a Masters in Public Health in 2005, and my M.D. in 2009.

I did my residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle from 2009-2012. I was part of the Boise Primary Care Track. I spent my first and third years in Seattle, and my second year in Boise.

After completion of my residency, I returned to Boise to be part of the newly formed University of Washington Boise Internal Medicine Residency, as the Chief Medical Resident from 2012-2013.

Following my CMR year, I stayed on as full-time faculty at the Boise VA Medical Center as a hybrid teaching physician and a Clinician Educator. In 2015, in addition to my work with residents, and my personal clinical duties, I transitioned into the role of Chief of Staff for Education at the Boise VAMC. After a year on the job, I was also asked by VISN 20 to serve as the region's Academic Affiliations Officer.

My academic interests are in quality improvement, resident teaching and supervision, and procedure based training.

I have been married since 2009, and I am the proud father to three intelligent, enthusiastic, active, and beautiful little girls. I love to mountain bike, camp, backpack, wakeboard, wakesurf, and spend time outdoors.
