I recently read Attending: Medicine, Mindfulness, and Humanity by Dr. Ronald Epstein last fall while preparing for a lecture. I had been tasked to speak to a large group of internists, specialists and trainees about restoring the joy in practice. I had just reread Epstein’s 1999 Mindful Practice.
