Each March, SGIM members travel to Capitol Hill to advocate on issues important to primary care. Everyone from medical students to experienced politicos meet with their representatives and participant in the democratic process--educating the legislature on issues that affect our daily practice.

"Being able to sit down in one of my senator's offices for a 30 minute exchange of ideas was very exciting. I have attended local events with that senator, but to be in her office on the Hill advocating for issues that affect my career was so exciting."

New JGIM Editorial Board Members Needed!

 

The JGIM Editorial Board is currently looking to fill five vacancies for editorial board members.One slot is specifically reserved for an international member and we are looking for representation for the other slots from the following fields:

  • health services research
  • women's health and women's careers in medicine
  • VA research
  • medical education
  • electronic communications/social media
  • health disparities
  • medical ethics

The deadline to apply is February 6, 2015.

 

To apply, please view the entire set of Editorial Board Responsibilitiesand then send 1-2 page letter of intent and current CV to Francine Jetton, indicating for which position you wish to be considered (international or full member).
