SGIM Call for Nominations Open!

 

We need your help in identifying outstanding leaders for SGIM. SGIM's leadership positions offer great opportunities to shape the future of our discipline. This year, we will elect four individuals: President-elect, Secretary-elect, and two Council members.

 

Candidates for president-elect or secretary-elect should have the following attributes: a strong track record of commitment and service to the Society: proven collaborative leadership skills; the ability to integrate the SGIM's diverse interests; excellent communication skills; and dedication to advancing SGIM's mission.


Candidates for the Council positions should be innovators and collaborators and have prior evidence of contributing to SGIM at the national or regional levels. All candidates should be recognized as persons who are reliable and able to deliver on their commitments.

Looking to improve your skills? SGIM offers the following one year hybrid in-person and online certificate programs:

In its 3rd year, the ACLGIM LEAD certificate program is astructured program experience designed to explore and expand the leadership capabilities of individuals regardless of their current leadership position and academic rank. Consider who you might know that could benefit from a community of leaders around the country committed to their success!More on the LEAD program.

Call for UpToDate Reviewers

 

SGIM is looking for members to review a series of educational materials from UpToDate Inc. UpToDate is an evidence based, peer-reviewed information resource that writes topic reviews including a synthesis of literature, the latest evidence, and specific recommendations for patient care.

 

Eligible candidates should be practicing clinicians. Reviewers will be asked to evaluate educational materials designed to inform patients of the most trusted, unbiased medical information available from the GIM perspective. Participation in the review process itself offers important opportunities for the SGIM reviewers for faculty development and career advancement.Reviewer term is three years.

Both LEAD and UNLTD are leadership development opportunities that include mentoring aspects within the program structure. If accepted, the UNLTD Program includes scholarship funds that would support costs associated with the LEAD program.
