Attention Full Members:

 

As an SGIM member, you influence the Society's future through your vote. The field of General Internal Medicine faces opportunities and challenges in the coming years. In this context, the SGIM leaders you choose today will have the opportunity to play major roles in shaping our field for the 21st century.

 

This year we will elect a president-elect, Secretary-elect and two Council members. Please take a few minutes to review their brief bio-sketches and platforms and then show your support for SGIM by voting. SGIM Full & Emeritus members are eligible to vote and should have received an email with their voting credentials on March 7th.

 

All votes must be cast by 11:59pm EST on Thursday, April 7, 2016.

What's Your Story? - Call for Submissions

 

JGIM's Healing Arts section wants your:

 

Well-crafted and engaging personal narrative, essay, story (<1000 words), or poem (<40 lines) that informs and illuminates the practice and teaching of medicine.

Medical humanities teaching module that includes 1) an excerpt from a novel, short story, poem, history, drama, visual art, or creative non-fiction alongside 2) an accompanying essay (<1000 words) interpreting the excerpt for contemporary clinical practice or medical education.

Call for New JGIM Editor(s)

 

The Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) is pleased to request letters of interest regarding the position of Editor(s)-in-Chief for the Journal of General Internal Medicine (JGIM).

 

This Call For Letters of Intent solicits initial letters of interest in the position of JGIM Editor(s)-in-Chief, for a five- year term commencing July 1, 2017.

 

The requirements for the initial letter of interest are as follows:

  • Two-page letter outlining the candidate's general vision for the Journal, both JGIM online and in print, briefly summarizing his/her editorial and/or other relevant experience, and providing a partial listing of the individuals who would be expected to be key personnel for the editorial team and their institution(s) (e.g., potential associate/deputy editors).
  • Candidate's Curriculum Vitae, including prior SGIM involvement.Candidates MUST be SGIM members in good standing at the time of their application.
