I hope that everyone is having a great summer. Lots of updates below and opportunities for scholarship!
1. QUICK SURVEY: If SGIM developed dedicated Women’s Health MOC modules, would you utilize them yourself, use them as teaching tools, or refer your colleagues to them for better WH education? 2. URINARY INCONTINENCE: looking for an author to develop a Urinary Incontinence module for Quantiamd.com. Many of the members of this group have already produced material for them (check out Jen Corbelli, Brielle Spataro and Eloho Ufomata!). Great CV cred and a small monetary bonus. Let me know asap. I can mentor you through it.
3. Women’s Health Textbook: Springer has approved the development of a women’s health textbook to be written by WH doctors (i.e. us!). The goal of this book is to provide a comprehensive overview of WH for ambulatory medicine; I foresee it helping programs build their WH curricula and can be used in most healthcare programs including nursing, PA, etc. There is nothing like it on the market and will be available online and in text.
I am soliciting for chapter authors. I have many topics to choose from. Please let me know if you are interested ASAP. Junior members should probably find a senior faculty mentor to assist with content, etc. First come, first serve.
I am working on how to share curricular material effectively with this group (and for free). Looks like dropbox is going to be a no-go given the storage limits. If anyone has ideas, let me know. We could upload some material to the WHEIG page but this may be pretty messy. Pelin, thoughts?
I know we discussed at the annual meeting the development of short, ready-to-give lectures or small group sessions in a variety of topics. Until I/we can figure out how to better share materials I think this is on hold (until we see what each other has). We have several of these here at Pitt and the authors are willing to share their content. If you are looking for a specific topic, please let me know. Just remember to give the author credit for use of materials.
