  • Seeking Clinicians for Xylazine Associated Wound Study

    Hi ATOD

See below for any interested ATOD members!  Click the link at the end if interested  - Carolyn

"We believe your expertise would be especially valuable to our current study at the University of Pittsburgh: “Development of an Algorithm for Pain Management for Xylazine-Associated Wounds Using a Delphi Study.”

Individuals with xylazine-associated wounds often have acute and/or chronic pain that is poorly managed, due to the lack of evidence-based, consensus-driven clinical guidelines. We are seeking 40-60 experts with clinical or lived experience addressing xylazine-associated wounds to provide their perspectives on best practices in pain management.
    • We are conducting a Delphi-style, four-round online panel in REDCap, where participants will describe and rate pain management strategies.
    • Each round lasts 2-3 weeks.
    • The panel is online and asynchronous – you can complete each round at any time during the open survey window.
    • Participation in all four rounds should take about 1-2 hours total.
    • Participants will have the chance to receive a $100 gift card each round.
We are requesting for you to share our attached recruitment materials with members of the SGIM Tobacco Alcohol and Other Drugs Special Interest Group. If you are interested in participating in this research study, please click here: click this link to complete a recruitment survey.
For questions, please contact Dr. Raagini Jawa at jawar@upmc.edu or Austen Markus at erm209@pitt.edu."
