With new funding from the Health Resources & Services Administration, the Montefiore-Einstein Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program is recruiting fellows to start in July 2020 (or off cycle in 2020). This ACGME-accredited fellowship program is one year in duration, and is based in programs that have been leading opioid use disorder treatment with methadone for 50 years and with buprenorphine for 15 years. Fellows will receive rigorous clinical training in community-based, inpatient, and outpatient settings; and will complete longitudinal clinical experiences in Federally Qualified Health Centers, opioid treatment programs, and syringe exchange programs; formal training in Addiction Medicine; engagement with community-based organizations; and a mentored performance improvement project. Training is supervised by an interdisciplinary team of nationally-recognized faculty with addiction medicine expertise. Graduating fellows will be eligible for Board Certification in Addiction Medicine through the American Board of Preventative Medicine, and will be ideally situated to enter the workforce as addiction medicine physicians leading the treatment of substance use disorders in medically underserved settings.
