    Dear SGIM member,

A we gear up for the SGIM 37th Annual Meeting this year in San Diego, CA, we would like you to know about a special one-day course on quality and patient safety that will be presented on April 23rd, just before the annual meeting starts.  The Quality course is in its 3rd  year.  We had great turn out last year and are hoping for the same in San Diego - with your help!

The primary objective is to provide training in core QI skills for academic physicians to enhance their educational, research, and administrative skills in both outpatient and inpatient settings.  Course topics will include (1) improvement methodologies, (2) process mapping, (3) performance improvement tools, (4) reliability design strategy, and (5) capturing failures to inform redesign.  A brochure describing the course is attached.

Early registration ends tomorrow, March 13, 2014, so be sure to sign up now. If you are unable to attend, we ask that you advocate to have at least one SGIM member from your institution attend in order to learn from this forum and to have the opportunity to share information from the course with others at your institution.

More registration information is available at: http://www.sgim.org/communities/clinical-practice/quality

Please pass the word along to others that might benefit from this full day session.

Please let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you in April!

    Thank you,
