  • Addiction & Substance Use Sessions at SGIM 2026 – Plan to Arrive Early!

    If you’re planning to attend SGIM this year and have an interest in addiction medicine or substance use care, take note: many of the addiction- and substance-related (ATOD) sessions are scheduled early in the conference.  ATOD interest group will meet Friday May 8th at 7am- 8am.
    If these topics are important to you, consider booking flights that allow you to arrive in time for the early sessions. We’d love to see strong turnout and engagement from our GIM colleagues for this outstanding content.
    Interested in getting involved?
    The ATOD interest group is looking for 1–2 volunteers who could spend a couple of hours in April helping track and compile the SGIM ATOD presentations, as we’ve done in prior years. It’s a great way to stay closely connected to the scholarship in this space.
    If you’re interested, please email Daniel Liauw, MD at dliauw@mgb.org.
    Hope to see many of you there!
  • Welcome to this interest group!

    SGIM members are invited to:

    (1) share their experiences of how culturally sensitive care in both individual patient interactions and dedicated programs/resources have impacted patient care;

    (2) discuss what initiatives are being undertaken at their institutions that exemplify culturally sensitive care. The goal is to start sharing the experiences and initiatives in the forum, and then meet formally to discuss at the SGIM annual meeting.
