Bio

I spent my first 28 years in the northeast and then decamped to the west coast for primary care residency. Perhaps the greatest irony of my life is that I chose UCSF over UW because statistically it offered the better chance of a return back east after residency...and then I found myself in rural Alaska after completing my training.

I am a full-time general internist at a private clinic in Soldotna, Alaska. Because our community is under-served by medical subspecialists, my colleagues and I practice the full spectrum of GIM, including management of subspecialty problems. My clinic is a teaching site within the WWAMI program, so I have the opportunity to work with medical students and residents, which inspired me to pursue the SGIM TEACH program. I do locums work for our hospitalist group and am involved in medical staff activities at our local hospital, which is just across the street. Best of all, I get to see the occasional moose run by my office window!
