I am an Associate Professor of Medicine and Public Health Sciences at Penn State College of Medicine. My research focuses on women's preventive healthcare, particularly on improving health and health services to rural women who experience intimate partner violence (IPV). In SGIM, I am active on the Women and Medicine Commission (formerly Task Force), serving as co-chair 2011-2013, and chair in 2013-2015. I am an active member of the Physicians Against Violence Interest Group and served as SGIM's representative on the steering committee of the Futures Without Violence's National Conference on Health and Domestic Violence until 2019.
