Carlos A. Estrada, MD, MS, is Professor of Medicine, with tenure, at the Heersink School of Medicine, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Senior Scholar and Co-Director of the Birmingham VA Quality Scholar Fellowship (VAQS), and Section Chief of General Internal Medicine, BVAMC.
Dr Estrada received his medical degree from Cayetano Heredia University in Lima, Peru. He then completed his internship, residency in internal medicine and Chief Medical Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. While completing his fellowship in general internal medicine, also at Henry Ford Hospital, Dr Estrada received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis at the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Ann Arbor.
