I am a general internist and clinician investigator with a research focus on multimorbidity, the confluence of multiple medical conditions, including its measurement, risk factors, management, and prognosis. I am particularly interested in identifying modifiable risk factors that may be translated into clinical and public health interventions to 1) optimize patient care, and 2) prevent or delay multimorbidity onset, progression and complications.
I also have longstanding clinical and research interests in nutrition and chronic disease prevention. I have published on the associations between vitamin D and colorectal cancer, adenoma, and other health outcomes using meta-analyses, as well as other nutrient-disease associations.
