Bio

Dr. Henry Michtalik, MD, MPH, MHS, SFHM, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  He is an academic fellowship trained researcher and hospitalist with research interests in patient safety issues, especially as related to patient census and transitions of care from acute to primary care, and quality improvement and systems management.  He has received multiple local and national grants examining hospitalist workload and burnout; completed Lean Sigma and Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program trainings; is on a national Workforce Committee; and published on workload and burnout.  He is also part of a Clinical Community which represents a diverse set of hospitals (community, academic, tertiary care) and hospitalist program structures (variable scheduling and consultation models; advanced care practitioner, attending-only, teaching or combined service models).
