Dr. Lisa Witmer is an Internal Medicine Chief Resident at Penn State Health in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency at Penn State Hershey and earned her medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine. She has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic medicine throughout her training. She is particularly dedicated to teaching and modeling clear, compassionate communication among residents, fostering a culture of empathy and patient-centered care
As a Chief Resident, Dr. Witmer is passionate about medical education and dedicated to teaching and mentoring residents. Her goals for her chief year include implementing resident wellness events integrated into the workday and creating a medical improv curriculum for Internal Medicine residents. Her clinical interests focus on communication in medicine, with particular emphasis on patient-centered, evidence-based care. Following residency, she plans to practice as both a primary care physician and hospitalist, combining outpatient continuity with inpatient medicine.
