In addition to the delivery of compassionate patient care to people who are hospitalized, my main career interests are in physician wellness and in medical education. I am the director for faculty wellness in the division of hospital medicine at OHSU and work on both the systems of care and the individual contributions that are important for physician wellness. The emphasis for my work as director of wellness is intentionally mostly directed towards improving the systems of care that add stress to the work life of great people who are dedicated to helping people who are suffering. I have completed the Wellness Engaged Longitudinal Leaders (WELL) training and WELL site visit training offered through ACLGIM in order to gain skills and strategies for improving the systems of care that matter most for physician wellness. I have also completed and become a certified healthcare provider in the Stress Management and Resiliency Training - Relaxation Response Resiliency Program (SMART-3RP) developed at the Benson Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine to offer assistance with the individual domain of physician wellness.
