I was born in the US but grew up mostly in Egypt where I completed medical school. I then did residency at UT San Antonio and a 1 year fellowship at UT Southwestern in Dallas. I currently am an academic hospitalist at UT San Antonio. My professional interests include medical education, global health and quality improvement. Ultimately, I would like to combine my interests to focus my projects on improving medical education and quality of healthcare on a global scale. On a more personal note, I like travelling and old arabic music including the luth (origin of the modern guitar.)
