As General Medicine Chief at U Chicago I lead a group of 40 academic general internists who study health disparities, teach our students and residents, and care for approximately 25,000 underserved patients from Chicago's South Side. As a med-peds doc, I study obesity and diabetes risk in kids and adults. As Faculty Development Vice Chair, I build leadership training programs and other advancement opportunities for faculty, with a special focus on women and faculty of color.
I love hiking and backpacking with my spouse, and laying on the beach reading books! I'm planning a triathlon in Wisconsin this June.
