I am originally from Knoxville, TN and attended college at the University of Tennessee before pursuing an initial career in public health at Emory University with a focus on epidemiology and global health. I later returned to Tennessee for medical school and then to UVA for internal medicine residency. I am now in my first year as an academic hospitalist at UVA where my wife is an OB-GYN resident. We have a busy and fulfilling life with our 2-year daughter Grace. Personal interests include running, hiking, kayaking, soccer/football, woodwork, travel, and cooking.
