Bio

Dr. David is a primary care physician and public health practitioner with deep experience in quality, safety, and health equity leadership. She serves as Chief of Quality and Safety at MIT Health. Previously, she was an Associate Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine, Co-Director of the Haitian Health Institute at Boston Medical Center, and Director of Community Health Programs at the Boston University Center of Excellence in Women’s Health. 

Her career has focused on reducing health disparities, advancing cross cultural care, and strengthening clinical systems to improve patient outcomes. Her work includes the development of cultural competence curricula and educational initiatives across a broad range of health topics. She has taught medical students, residents, and graduate students, and has mentored junior faculty. 

Dr. David has published peer reviewed articles and book chapters and partnered with Health Care For All on legislative efforts to reduce racial and ethnic health disparities in Massachusetts as a Columbia University Advocacy Fellow. She served on the Massachusetts Public Health Council, the policy arm of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, by gubernatorial appointment from 2007 to 2025. 

Her honors include the Massachusetts Health and Human Services William A. Hinton Award for contributions to public health, a leadership award from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and a Patient Safety Award from Atrius Health. She has been named a Boston Super Doctor three times. 

In addition to her work in medicine, Dr. David is an award winning fine art quilt artist whose work has been published in books and magazines.
