Bio

Nisa M. Maruthur, MD, MHS is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at The Johns Hopkins University. She obtained her medical degree from Northwestern University in 2003 and then completed her residency in internal medicine in the Osler Housestaff Training Program (The Johns Hopkins Hospital, 2006). During her GIM Fellowship, she obtained an MHS in Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health (2008). She joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins in GIM in 2009.

Dr. Maruthur's primary research interest is in the prevention and management of diabetes. She is particularly interested in diabetes prevention individualized medicine for diabetes.

Dr. Maruthur maintains a primary care continuity clinic in the Levine Group Internal Medicine Practice (Johns Hopkins at Greenspring Station) and also serves as Director of the Johns Hopkins GIM Fellowship.
